Symposium "Bringing diversity into entrepreneurship research"

Tuesday, May 31, 13.30-17.30, Hasselt University

To celebrate prof. Monder Ram (De Montfort University, UK) who will receive an honorary doctorate at Hasselt University, SEIN organizes a symposium on ethnic minority entrepreneurship. Monder Ram will give a lecture on “Diversity and Small Firms: The Case of Ethnic Minority Entrepreneurship Research in the UK”. We also invited prof. Robert Kloosterman (University of Amsterdam) to talk about “Newcomers and New Opportunities: Ghanaian Migrant Entrepreneurs in the Netherlands”. Annelies Thoelen (PhD-student at SEIN) and Patrizia Zanoni (director of SEIN) will give a lecture on “Crafting success by ‘fitting in’ and ‘standing out’: Ethnic minority entrepreneurs’ construction of legitimacy in the creative industries”.
